The czAR(T) Krzywogońca Foundation would like to invite you to the village of Krzywogoniec in the scenic Bory Tucholskie on Saturday 26th June from 16 until the early hours. We have a special poetic and musical event in store for you: the Woodland Bee Poetry Fête with Midsummer Poetrymaking by the lake.
In the programme
Afternoon Woodland Bee Poetry Fête in Gallery Krzywogoniec 53.
Dr. Beata Morzyńska-Wrzosek, a lecturer from the Kazimierz Wielki University in Bydgoszcz, and Beata Anna Symłon, a cultural expert from Kraków, will talk about their fascination with nature in poetry. Marcin Kostrzyński will get us into the mood of the event with his tales about wolves and other forest animals.
During the final of the IV National Poetry Competition ‘For the Golden Bee’, a golden, silver and bronze bee will fly to the winners. The unique statuettes, which the artist Jan Czupryniak has been making for 4 years now, are created especially for this occasion.
To ensure Krzywogoniec guests never run out of energy, refreshments will be prepared by the Farmers’ Wives’ Association. The menu will of course include regional dishes and some paleo-vegan cuisine rich in healthy fats, fibre and antioxidants. You’ll be surprised at how much it’s possible to come up with by using, for example, nettles.
Evening Midsummer Poetrymaking by the river in the Amphitheatre in Krzywogoniec.
The final of the III National ‘Fire and Water’ Poem Competition will take place in the rays of the setting sun, in the atmospheric amphitheatre by the lake in Krzywogoniec. To enter the stage and read your poem, you will be required to… wear a traditional wreath on your head, woven out of field flowers. The jury will judge two different talents: the art of writing and the art of weaving – the most interesting poem and the best wreath.
We will finish with musical attractions supplied by Sosnowski, a guitarist known for his characteristic hoarse vocals. His songs, such as ‘Deszcz’ and ‘Dalej’, have won the hearts of listeners, and reached a high position in the Polish charts. His first album was nominated for this year’s Fryderyki and Paszporty Polityki awards.
Free entry is granted to all.
